What happens to the original Modern 80's Kit and Claps Vault POP?
The original Modern 80's kit and Claps Vault POP are now legacy products (as of September 2024) This means that they are no longer getting updates and are no longer supported.
That being said, their old version will be included in your V2.0 download for people who have older projects and want to ensure compatibility. But at some point, this will stop completely.
Is V1.0 compatible with V2.0 and will older projects using V1.0 load?
No, the Modern 80s Kit/Claps Vault V2.0 are brand-new instruments created from scratch. To make them better and add features, we had to rewrite the code. So projects created with the original Modern 80s Kit will not open with V2.0. That's why the legacy version of the Modern 80s Kit (the original) will be included with the V2.0 download for some time.
What should I do with my original Modern 80s Kit and Claps Vault POP?
I would suggest start using V2.0 from now on. It's much better in every single way. 😀
Make sure you backup the Modern 80s Kit original library if you want to use it in the future as it will not be included in the downloads forever.
You are responsible for keeping the VSTSound file in a safe place in case you want to use it on a new computer etc.
Can I install both V1 and V2 on the same system?
Sure you can! The Modern 80’s Kit V2.0 is an entirely new instrument and won’t interfere with your V1 installation at all. So you can have the new instrument, and retain compatibility with older projects if you wish. 😉
